Scone Service Operator v1.3.0

This release introduces support for major Scone Release 6.0.0, including significant improvements such as support for Intel® SGX PCS API version 4.

Users are strongly encouraged to upgrade to this version to benefit from the latest features and security improvements.

Key Features, Improvements and Important Changes

  • Support for Scone Services 6.0.0: Now supports Intel® SGX PCS API version 4. Intel® SGX PCS API versions 2 and 3 will reach End Of Life by October 31st.
  • Deprecation of Scone Services 5.8.0 and 5.9.0: Support for these versions is deprecated in v1.3.0.

Deprecation and End-of-Life

Scone Service Operator versions 1.1.0 and 1.2.0 are deprecated with this release and will be removed by October 31st.

Background: Scone Services versions 5.8.0 and 5.9.0 will reach their End Of Life on October 31st and will no longer work after this date. Upgrading to Scone Service Operator v1.3.0 and Scone Services 6.0.0 is required no later than October 31st. After this date, upgrading to 6.0.0 will no longer be possible and the old versions will neither work nor be supported.

Recommendation

Please upgrade to Scone Service Operator v1.3.0 and Scone Services 6.0.0 as soon as possible and no later than October 31st to ensure smooth operation. Further details on the upgrade can be found in the Scone User Guide. Re-Sconifying your applications to use the new Intel® SGX PCS API version 4 is not necessary to benefit from the latest features and security improvements.

Upgrade Notes

Upgrading to Scone Service Operator v1.3.0 requires careful consideration of the changes introduced in this release. Refer to the Scone User Guide for detailed instructions.

We also recommend upgrading Scone Services to version 6.0.0 as soon as possible. Ensure you have upgraded before the End Of Life of Intel® SGX PCS API versions 2 and 3 on October 31st.

Scone Service Operator v1.3.0 supports upgrading Scone Services from versions 5.8.0 and 5.9.0 to version 6.0.0. See the Scone User Guide for details.

Important:
All upgrades to Scone Service Operator v1.3.0 and Scone Services 6.0.0 must be completed by October 31st. After this date, older versions will no longer work or be supported.
